Corps History

The Westchester Brassmen Drum and Bugle Corps was established, by director Joe Mazzulllo, Jr, in 1984 as a parade corps.  The Brassmen are sponsored by American Legion Post #559, Harrison, New York. They have performed in over 1000 parades and exhibitions throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.  In their brief history, the  Brassmen are recipients of over 500 FIRST PLACE TROPHIES, have performed at Yankee Stadium,  half-time shows for the New York Jets and the New York Giants.  In addition to the many awards and accolades the Brassmen have received, they have also been spotted on the streets of New York City in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day parade (2010), Operation Welcome Home (1991), and the 200th Anniversary parade for the Inauguration of George Washington (1989) not to mention countless others.  Currently Brassmen membership ranges from ages 14-74. The Brassmen have proudly provided over $50,000 in youth Scholarships to high school and college student meeting specified criteria.imag008
